Privacy Policy

Pickleloonies (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a semi-private pickleball pod manager for friend groups. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

When you use Pickleloonies we collect:

• Account info— email address (used for magic-link authentication), display name, and optional DUPR rating.
• Profile photo— avatar image you upload.
• Pod & session data— pod memberships, RSVPs, attendance, waitlist entries, and weekly templates.
• Payment records— amounts, method (Venmo/Zelle/cash), and optional receipt screenshots you submit within the app. We do not process payments—actual transfers happen externally.
• Chat messages— messages, images, polls, and reactions in pod channels and direct messages.
• Push notification tokens— device tokens for delivering web push notifications you opt into.
• Usage metadata— onboarding progress and color-theme preference stored in your browser.

We use the data above to:

• Authenticate your account via magic-link email.
• Display your profile to other pod members.
• Manage pod scheduling, RSVPs, payments, and leaderboards.
• Deliver chat messages and push notifications.

We do not sell your data. We do not run third-party analytics or advertising.

Your data is stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database and object storage. Supabase infrastructure runs on AWS. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

• Supabase auth cookies— session tokens for authentication.
• demo_modecookie — set when you use demo mode.
• color_theme— localStorage key for your theme preference.
• pickleloonies_tour_*— localStorage keys tracking onboarding tutorial progress.

• Supabase— authentication, database, and file storage.
• Supabase Auth— magic-link email delivery for sign-in (via Supabase’s built-in SMTP provider).
• Venmo & Zelle— the app links to these services for payment convenience. No data is shared with them.

Your data is retained as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from your Profile page within the app. Account deletion permanently removes your profile, pod memberships, payment records, and avatar. Chat messages you sent are anonymized to “[Deleted User]” to preserve conversation context for other members.

Pickleloonies is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, please contact us.

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
