The local take
Pickleball lines overlaid on tennis. Bring a portable net. Scenic Arroyo setting next to the Rose Bowl.
What it's like to play here
Four court setups at Brookside Park — pickleball lines striped over tennis courts, so you'll need to bring your own portable net. The setting alone is worth the drive: tucked into the Arroyo Seco next to the Rose Bowl, with the San Gabriel Mountains as a backdrop and old-growth trees breaking up the wind.
When to go (and when not to)
- Best: weekday morning 8–11am before tennis players claim the surface.
- Avoid: Rose Bowl event days — parking turns into a nightmare and the park fills up.
How to get there
Off the 134 freeway at Linda Vista, south into the Arroyo. Park entrance on Arroyo Boulevard. Free lot but it fills on event days.
