The local take
Long Beach's flagship community pickleball hub after El Dorado — 8 lit dedicated courts, first-come first-served.
What it's like to play here
Eight dedicated lighted pickleball courts at DeForest Park — Long Beach's flagship FREE pickleball facility, complementing the paid El Dorado Tennis Center. Permanent nets, well-maintained concrete, lights from 4:30pm to 10pm.
This is the better value than El Dorado for casual play (free vs $10/court) at the cost of no reservations — you queue up and rotate in.
When to go (and when not to)
- Best: weeknight 5–9pm under lights when the regulars run the rotation.
- Avoid: weekend midday — the courts get crowded and the wait is long.
How to get there
Off the 405 at Long Beach Boulevard, then west to DeForest Avenue. Free park lot.
