The local take

Drop-in $5/person up to 3hr; Friday night 6-9p surcharges to $15/court — go weekday mornings for the best value.

What it's like to play here

Eight dedicated pickleball courts inside El Dorado Regional Park — the most established dedicated pickleball venue in Long Beach. Concrete surface, permanent nets, lit until close. The pricing is per-court rather than per-person, so a doubles foursome splits ~$10/hour four ways.

The Friday-night premium ($15/court) is unusual — most facilities don't surge — and it tracks with the regulars showing up after work. Drop-in players can pay $5/person up to 3 hours which is the better deal for a solo visitor.

When to go (and when not to)

  • Best: weekday mornings 7–10am.
  • Avoid: Friday 6–9pm unless you're willing to pay the surge price.

How to get there

Take the 605 south, exit Spring Street west. The tennis center is on the east side of Studebaker, near the lakes. Pay the park entry fee at the gate ($7 weekdays, $8 weekends) — separate from your court fee.
