The local take
City-run organized open play Wed/Fri mornings is the easiest way to meet locals.
What it's like to play here
Four dedicated pickleball courts at Mayfair Park in Lakewood. The city's Recreation Department runs structured open-play sessions Wednesday and Friday mornings 9–11am — the easiest way to plug into the regulars if you're new in the area.
Outside those structured windows, the courts are first-come first-served. Permanent nets, lighted into the evening.
When to go (and when not to)
- Best: Wednesday or Friday 9–11am for organized open play; weekday late afternoon for casual.
- Avoid: weekends without checking the city rec calendar — youth programs sometimes overlap.
How to get there
Off the 405 at Lakewood Boulevard north, then east on Del Amo to Clark. Mayfair Park is on the east side of Clark. Free park lot.
