Federico Staksrud is Argentina's top-ranked pickleball player and was the first pro in PPA history to hold World No. 1 in both men's singles and men's doubles simultaneously.
Career
A former Argentine junior tennis standout (top 7 U18), Staksrud played collegiate tennis at the University of New Orleans, Tennessee Wesleyan, and FGCU before taking up pickleball in July 2021. He climbed the PPA ranks quickly enough to claim both singles and doubles #1 inside three years.
In January 2025 he departed JOOLA to sign with Adidas Pickleball — one of the highest-profile sponsorship moves in the sport's short history, signalling Adidas's intent to push into pickleball at the same scale as their tennis program.
As of April 2026 he sits at #2 in men's singles, behind Chris Haworth, and was beaten en route to the Atlanta final by 15-year-old Tama Shimabukuro.
Playing style
Right-handed; the heaviest topspin third-shot drive on tour. His ground game from the baseline is the closest thing the men's draw has to a tennis-style grinder.
