Cam Chaffin (Camden Chaffin) is one of the most precocious junior pros in the sport β the youngest male player to win a PPA main draw match, at age 12.
Career
Chaffin came to pickleball via family (introduced by his aunts; no tennis background), and won the 2024 MLP Grand Rapids 5.0+ singles event as a young teen. In early 2026 he made headlines by defeating World #2 Federico Staksrud in an exhibition-format match.
He was on the MLP Junior All-Star team at the 2025 MLP Cup alongside Tama Shimabukuro, Ella Yeh, and Elsie Hendershot. The team came within points of beating the senior Bay Area Breakers β one of the more talked-about moments of the league season.
His paddle sponsor is PIKKL, the Ohio-based brand that builds its athlete program heavily around junior development.
Playing style
Right-handed. Fast hands at the kitchen line and the kind of unflappable poise that's unusual in mid-teens athletes. The lack of a tennis background actually helps here β he doesn't carry the tennis baseliner habits other juniors are still unlearning.
Off-court
Lives in Grove City, Ohio. Trains with his family-run support system that doesn't include a full-time tennis coach pivot.
